A little bit about the poems
No one has ever asked me to write about my poems, but if they had, I might have said this:
My poems are all right. They're not the best poems you'll ever read, but they're a long way from the worst. By and large, they make sense to me. When they don't, I don't worry about it. I just publish them and hope someone else can make them out. Luckily, no one seems to require that poetry should make sense.
I don't know why I bother writing poems. Some people do crosswords or sudoku or read the newspaper or play chess or practice scrapbooking; I write poems. I don't really expect anyone to read them any more than crossworders expect other people to read their completed puzzles. Or perhaps they do. People who do crosswords are peculiar.
Anyway, if you read any of the poems and feel like adding a comment or asking me about them, too bad.
